About Troop 49

Founded in 1963, Troop 49 has been providing Bayside and surrounding areas with quality scouting for over 60 years. We participate in monthy excusions including overnight camping, museum trips, hikes, and historical events.

As a member of GNYC's founders district, we also participate in camp-o-rees and other scouting events with other local troops from eastern Queens.

Troop 49 is also home to more than 30 eagle scouts, and has become an integral part of its community, participating in community event such as the Bayside St. Patrick's Day parade, the Little Neck Memorial Day Parade, and Sacred Heart's Earth Day Ecofests, and performing park restorations, namely the Lawrence Cemetery in collaboration with the Bayside Historical Society
